Chapter 1: It all started with my reluctance.

Hey there,

Barb Ling here and hope your day is magnificent!

I have a story to share… one you might find both amusing and inspiring to boot.

Back when 2016 begin, I started noticing how bunches of marketers were extolling the profits of videos…. even more so than usual.

Now, I tend to view myself as shy….

… and the idea of putting myself on camera simple did NOT fill my coffeecup with glee!

Talk about reluctance.

However, as life has this annoying habit of never listening to me, I soon realized that unless I DID get past my comfort boundaries, I’d be keeping company with the delightful dinosaurs of yesteryear.

So! I checked out all the live streaming apps that were available (Periscope anyone)….

… and discovered the FB has this thingee called ‘FB Live’ (live streaming).

Plus! I didn’t have to download any additional app to use it! It’s already embedded in my FB app on my phone!

So…. I started. On May 31st, to be precise.

How did I start?

Simple! I just did a test run…. saw it uploaded, and said to myself:

Jeepers self! I’m still alive!

From then, I tried livestreaming in the handicapped parking lot…

… at my gym….

… with my mooses….

And if you’ve ever seen my FB videos, you’ll know that I’m made over 80 of them to date…

… and generated income from them to boot.
